In view of the current situation with COVID-19 we are from today suspending our art classes in Codicote and Ware until further notice. It is with a heavy heart that we do this as we know how much you enjoy coming along for art a cup of tea and a chat.

Our Classes

Anne Giving GuidanceOur classes which are taught by Anne are designed with both the beginner and improver in mind. So if you’ve not painted before or at least not for some time (maybe it was back at school or college) you should be fine to come along and join in the fun!

Ware

Leaside Church HallOur Ware classes are held in the Isabel Adams Room of Leaside Community Centre next to Leaside Church.  The location can be tricky to find if you don’t know Ware that well.  It is just off the corner of the High Street and East Street but you do need to know where to look.

Palette and Water PotThe Art Box has been running art classes taught by Anne in Leaside Church and Community Centre, Ware since 2008. She also runs classes at The Peace Memorial Hall, Codicote. We aim to provide enjoyable and fun art classes for all, ranging from complete beginners to those who have painted before but maybe not for years.

AnneAnne who teaches our classes was born in Northumberland but has lived “down south” for most of her life.

 

Starting out painting in watercolour she now also paints in pastel, acrylic and pen and ink and has recently discovered oils. Despite not wanting to be labelled as a flower painter she has had much success with her watercolour flowers.

 

Codicote

Peace Memorial Hall, CodicoteOur Codicote classes are held in the Peace Memorial Hall which can be found on the western side of the B656 High Street opposite Premier Dry Cleaning. Codicote village is situated to the west of the A1, north of Old Welwyn on the road to Hitchin.
